Backyard Artists works with local partners to continue to bring our events, publications, and awards to the Boise community. The Lit Room Book Lounge
The Lit Room is a woman-owned, independent bookstore featuring BIG stories from small presses. Opening its first brick-and-mortar in 2023 in the Treasure Valley, The Lit Room connects you with dynamic, inclusive, and enriching texts that you’ll want to share with family and friends. They also host the Boise Banned Book Club, a monthly book club that talks about books….nicely.

With up to three free or low-cost events per month including workshops, readings, performances, and exhibits, Surel’s Place prides itself on being inclusive and welcoming to all, while offering artists the kind of support they deserve.

Cats Eye Creative Reuse
Cats Eye is a donation based Thrift Store specifically for Arts and Craft supplies, and other creative potential materials! Cats Eye wants to keep those usable materials out of landfills and get them into the hands of local artists, teachers, parents, and creatives of all kinds.
Cats Eye partnered with BYA to supplement artists’ materials for our upcoming Visual Art event.

Open Letter Collective is an Idaho non-profit organization focused on providing quality education in printmaking, book arts, and independent publishing. The collective seeks to educate the public about media literacy and the benefits of independent print media in a digital world.
Open Letter's goal is to provide meaningful, hands-on experiences for people to interact with printing and book-making processes to create their own media. Through teaching these skills, they honor the history of the printed word as a powerful tool for human expression and interaction that can lead to discourse and social change.

No New Vintage is a woman owned co-op vintage clothing store on 8th Street in Downtown Boise.
They donated the Linen Building to BYA for use during Paper Plane Volume 1 Launch Party after their No New Vintage Market.

JUMP Boise invited Backyard Artists to participate in Illumibrate, an immersive visual art event. In March 2024, BYA’s team of artists turned JUMP’s Pioneer Room into an experiential Dreamscape with a floating brain, suspended sculptures, unique soundscape, and performance dancers.
